Candle Care
Burn Memory
The first burn of your candle is the most important as it creates a burn memory. To create a burn memory ensure you allow the melt pool to reach the edge of the jar before extinguishing. This can typically take between 1-3 hours depending on the size of your jar. By creating a burn memory, it will prevent the candle tunneling & ensure an even burn.
Your candle should be burnt for a maximum of 4 hours (less depending on the size). Always allow the wax to set before relighting. Always place your candle on a heat resistant surface away from drafts & rotate regularly to prevent an uneven burn. Please refer to the full safety instructions on the base or box of your candle.
Trimming the wick
Wicks should be trimmed to ¼ inch prior to each lighting. This will ensure the flame remains clean & bright & will also reduce blackening of the jar.
Repurpose
When your candle has 1-2cm of unmelted wax remaining it is time to repurpose! Never burn your candle further than this point as it can cause the glass to overheat & break. Once finished simply wash out your jar with warm soapy water & repurpose!
